Abstract
Written communication is among the educational needs of future Engineers. Professional writing is a basic professional skill which can be either accessed or improved very effectively through the use of software packs.
In the context of Spanish Engineering, recent graduates are expected to be familiar with professional written communication both in English and Spanish. Due to the structure of the University training this nees are not always satisfactorily met. The group of professors who developed CEDAC were aiming at those professionals (not only engineers) who have a very short time to become familiar with the structure and contents of the following documents: abstracts, reports, memoranda, covering letters, curricula vitae, commercial correspondence, and presentations. These materials are accompanied by a specific glossary, sets of exercises, real examples and document templates.
The programme has been developed with a simplified authoring language (MicroTutor) developed by the University of Córdoba (Spain) specifically for teaching.
